Jianxi Province lies in southeast China. In the 1920s and 1930s, Jiangxi witnessed the surging tide of workers' and peasants' movements and of armed insurgencies. The Anyuan Workers' Strike raised the curtain for the great revolution, the August 1 Nanchang Uprising created the Red Army, the struggles in the Jinggang Mountains laid the foundation for the red base areas, and the red regime of the Provisional Central Government of the Soviet Republic of China was established in Ruijin. Among its mountains and rivers lie numerous revolutionary sites and relics, telling stories about the arduous struggles and heroic spirits of revolutionary veterans.
